Xemplar Discovers Six Significant Uranium Occurrences At Its Warmbad Project In Namibia
Vancouver, May 7, 2007 - Xemplar Energy Corp
(the "Company") is pleased to update the progress at its
Warmbad Project (EPL's 3567 and 3568) in Namibia.
Field mapping and follow-up ground truthing of airborne
radiometric anomalies has identified six distinct,
mineralised alaskite bodies. Each of these bodies appears
to resemble a large "uranium porphyry". They have a strong
resemblance to the uraniferous alaskites found at the
Rossing Uranium mine. Uranium production at the Rossing
mine surpassed 3,500 tonnes in 2004; the mine has been in
operation since 1976. The Rossing deposit has an average
grade of 250 ppm U3O8 (0.025% U3O8). The current open pit
at Rossing is approximately 5kms long, 500 metres wide and
350 metres deep. Total tonnage at Rossing is estimated at
over 200 million tonnes of ore. With the current spot price
of uranium at $ 120 per lb the operations at Rossing will
continue for some years.
The six bodies or large alaskite sills discovered at the
Warmbad Project have been named as follows: Ramansdrift
Sill, Gaidip-Sandfontein Sill, Houms-Revier Main Sill,
Leopard-Trap Sill, Houms-Revier-Sandfontein Sill and
Ramansdrift-Gaobis Sill. These bodies occur in an area
measuring 40 kms by 12 kms. The average distance between
these bodies is approximately 4 kms. All of these bodies
are within 12 kms of the Orange River, which forms the
border between Namibia and South Africa. The current flow
rate of the river varies from 16 to 33 million cubic metres
per day (Cambray et al, 1986). There are currently two main
power lines from South Africa feeding the Namibian power
grid, one of these runs through the farm Gaidip-146, which
is located in the centre of the Warmbad project. The
availability of power and water is a critical issue for any
potential uranium mining operation in Namibia.
Over 200 sites have been investigated on these six alaskite
bodies and a total of 71 outcrop samples have been
collected and assayed. The sample sites are distributed
along the length of each Alaskite. Sample results for this
work are shown below. Sample assaying was carried out at
Set Point Laboratories in Johannesburg. Set Point
Laboratories is an ISO17025 credited laboratory based in
Johannesburg, South Africa. Three separate samples were
sent to ACME laboratories in Vancouver and these results
are also shown below. Results from Set Point were reported
in parts per million (ppm) U3O8, (1,000 ppm U3O8 is equal
to 0.1 % U3O8 or 2.2046 lb/t U3O8) and from ACME in parts
per million (ppm) Uranium (ppm uranium multiplied by 1.1792
equals ppm U3O8).
Ramansdrift Sill
This alaskite is a vertically dipping coarse to very
coarse-grained, partly weathered white alaskitic granite.
Biotite-nests and yellow secondary mineralisation is
visible in cavities (uraninite-replacement) and
limonite-coated joints. This north-northeast striking body
has a true-width of over 400 metres and a known strike
length of approximately 3.3 kms. The body is open-ended in
both directions. Some 20 outcrop samples were collected
from this alaskite. Assay results are shown below,

alaskitic granite. Slight hematite/limonite coating,
partial weathering, some biotite and extensive yellow
secondary uranium mineralisation is visible. The body has
an 80-degree dip to the northwest; it has a true-width of
approximately 400 metres and a known strike length of 2
kms. It is open ended in both directions. Four outcrop
samples were collected from this alaskite. Assay results

In view of the success of
this preliminary field program at Warmbad, the company has
decided to carry out a detailed helicopter-borne radiometric
survey. The contract for this work has been awarded to Fugro
Airborne Surveys (Pty) Ltd. The survey will commence within the
next two weeks and will entail the acquisition of some
16,000-line kms of data. This survey will acquire multi-channel
radiometric and magnetic data along lines 50 metres apart at a
height of 25 metres. The purpose of the survey is two-fold,
firstly it will effectively map the alaskite bodies and secondly
it will map the surface uranium mineralisation within the
alaskites themselves.
This survey will be followed by a drill program. Tenders are
being prepared for a 15,000-meter drill program to test all of
these alaskitic bodies and any others that may be found as a
result of the airborne radiometric survey.
