Xemplar Updates Progress At Its Cape Cross Uranium Project

Vancouver, May 15, 2007 - Xemplar Energy Corp (TSXV: XE) ("Xemplar" or the "Company") is pleased to update the progress at its Cape Cross uranium project in Namibia.

Cape Cross Uranium Project

Work at Cape Cross is being supervised by Eric Hanson, P. Geo, a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Hanson is currently retained by the company as a consultant. All necessary permits and environmental clearances for the project have been obtained. Fieldwork on the project commenced in February this year. Initially all fieldwork was concerned with ground truthing the airborne targets identified from the airborne data covering the area. Over 80 individual anomalies have been checked; samples from some of these targets have been taken and are being sent for assaying. Radiometric checks on these samples ranged from 44,200 counts per second to 1,100 counts per second.

During the early 1970's a number of exploration companies made a series of uranium discoveries in the Cape Cross area. Prospecting in this area was directed at secondary uranium mineralization (generally carnotite) associated with calcrete palaeochannels. The first of these was at Mile 72 along the road between Henties Bay and Cape Cross. This was followed by Goldfields of South Africa also in the Mile 72 area and then by Falconbridge in an area to the northeast of Mile 72. Rand Mines made a discovery along the road leading to the Strathmore Tin mine. Two small ore-bodies were discovered, one at Mile 72 and the other to the northeast. The Mile 72 body was found to be around 386,000 tonnes of ore at an average grade of 0.27 kg/t U3O8. A cut-off grade of 0.08 kg/t U3O8 was used. The northeastern deposit was much larger, at some 3 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.212 kg/t U3O8. A portion and a possible extension of the northeastern deposit lies within Xemplar's EPL permits. It has been found that a broad zone of uranium anomalies links these two uranium deposits. The zone is approximately 60 kilometres long and up to 2 kilometres in width, it is reasonably continuous along its length and appears to correlate with a well-developed palaeochannel.

Large portions of the project area are sand covered and as such have only a weak if any radiometric response. The most effective way to explore these sand covered areas is to use radon detectors. Radon detectors were used extensively in the Cape Cross area during the 1970's with considerable success. With this in mind Xemplar carried out a small pilot study to test the response of the detectors to the Cape Cross environment. The positive results of this test indicated that the method was suitable for the area. As a result Xemplar has commenced a large radon survey using Alphatrack detectors. Four large prospective areas within EPL's 3569, 3570 and 3571 are being targeted. To date approximately 2000 detectors have been used. A further 3000 are currently being deployed. Final results are expected within six weeks. This work will be followed by a percussion drill program and radiometric borehole logging to test any anomalies discovered and to delineate palaeochannels known to exist in the area.

The exploration target at Cape Cross is a mineralized palaeochannel containing uranium in the form of carnotite. The mineralization model would best be described as Langer Heinrich type deposit. Langer Heinrich is a sedimentary uranium deposit located within the Namib-Naukluft Park, approximately 100 kilometres east of Swakopmund. Langer Heinrich is currently being developed by Paladin Resources of Australia.
