Xemplar’s Warmbad Project Showing Mineralized Continuity – 29 Metres Grading 0.018%

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, December 16, 2008 – The Board of Directors of Xemplar Energy Corp. (TSX-Venture: XE, Frankfurt: E7R, Namibia: XEM) (“Xemplar” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide further drill hole chemical assay results from its Warmbad uranium exploration project in Namibia.

These results, coupled with previously announced drill results, have outlined eight zones showing uranium mineralization continuity at Aluriesfontein and Big Yellow (East, West and Centre). The management of Xemplar believes this to be a significant breakthrough in the development of the Warmbad project. As at Rossing, the Namibian uranium mine which contributed 7% of the global uranium oxide production in 2007, the alaskites at the Company’s Warmbad project are relatively thin-sheeted leucogranites (i.e., light colored granite rocks) which were layered within the country rocks. The geological groundwork and the drilling continue to confirm the widespread uranium mineralization on the property.

  • 5 metres grading 0.011% U3O8, from 91 metres to 96 metres, including 1 metre at 0.023% (from 93 metres to 94 metres).

With $16.0 million (CDN) cash on hand, the Company is in a strong financial position to execute its exploration programs for the next 24 months.

Appendix 2 - Interpretation of Chemical Assay Results

All samples were analyzed for U3O8 at Set Point Laboratories in Isando, South Africa. The reader is cautioned to view chemical assay results as a collective set of data (please refer to past news releases for other drill results), and not to draw conclusions based on the results presented in each news release independent of each other.

The objective of the first phase of drilling, which the Company is currently undertaking, is to outline mineralized bodies at the Warmbad project. Given the vast size of the Warmbad project, this phase of drilling will continue beyond the initial 40,000 metres that was targeted for completion in 2008. As the Company outlines mineralized bodies, additional drilling will take place (on the outlined mineralized bodies) in conjunction with exploratory drilling at other alaskite bodies at the Warmbad project.

Though the exploration program at the Warmbad project is in the early stages, the cumulative results of the first phase of the ongoing drill program are encouraging. The results show mineralization to depth and are allowing the Company to define outlines of the mineralized bodies. These early-stage drilling results show that relatively thin sheets of alaskite with uranium mineralization are present in a setting similar to the Rossing uranium mine in Namibia, that produced 3,046 tonnes of uranium oxide in 2007 (7% global production, making it the fifth largest uranium mine in the world).

The Company utilizes a cut off point of 100 parts per million (or 0.01%) U3O8 for its public reporting; so in some cases, there are intervals that show mineralization that are not reported. The data that is not reported is of tremendous value to the Company as it is utilized to assist in outlining the mineralized bodies.
