  • The property is located 20 kilometres north of Henties Bay, approximately 60 miles (100 kilometres) northwest of the Rossing Mine with the total EPL area covering 2,773 km².
  • Other mining companies that have held EPLs in smaller sections of the Cape Cross area in the past include General Mining (GenCorp), Goldfields, Rand Mines, and Falconbridge whose prospecting and exploration work was directed at secondary uranium mineralization associated with calcrete paleochannels.
    • In the early 1970’s at “Mile 72”, GenCorp defined a resource of 200,000 tons at 0.035% (350PPM or 350 grams per ton; ~154,000 pounds) U3O8.
    • In the late 1970’s at “Mile 72”, Goldfields defined a resource of 386,000 tons grading 0.023% (230PPM or 230 grams per ton; ~195,000 pounds) U3O8.
    • In 1980 Rand Mines investigated another paleochannel with a length of 7 kilometers and with a width between 0.2 and 0.5 kilometers northeast of “Mile 72” deposit, conducting percussion drilling on 49 holes (505 meters), showing a mineralization thickness of 0.3 meters to 3.8 meters with grades of 60PPM to 140PPM.
    • Though the historical resource is small, there is indication from the work conducted by GenCorp, Goldfield and Rand Mines that there is potential for larger uranium occurrence throughout the Cape Cross property.
  • The exploration target is a mineralized paleochannel containing uranium mineralization in the form of carnotite, which was exposed while trenching of palaeolchannels on the property. The mineralization model would best be described as Langer Heinrich (Paladin Resources) type deposit.
  • The paleochannel system within the area consists of a crust of gypcrete underlain by calcrete and calcareous conglomerates.
  • Xemplar Energy’s review of the area has revealed an anomalous zone within a well established palaeo-drainage system some 60 kilometres in length and up to 15 kilometres wide. Xemplar Energy has also identified uranium mineralized zones in the Tsaun Beacon Area.

WORK COMPLETED AT CAPE CROSS

  • Interpretation of government-flown airborne radiometric survey has been completed.
  • Large-scale radon survey utilizing Radon Detectors was completed in 2008, with some 10,000 radon cup detectors having been used. These surveys have identified numerous anomalous areas in the sand covered regions of Cape Cross.
  • Ground exploration work of radiometric and radon gas anomalies was conducted to identify potential drill targets.
  • Reconnaissance drilling was completed in 2008. Company awaiting geological and diagnostic report of the results of the drilling conducted at Cape Cross.

EXPLORATION PLANS FOR 2009

  • Conduct additional ground exploration, sampling and mapping of Cape Cross property.
  • Identify targets for drill program.
  • Consider all strategic options for the development of Cape Cross property.
