The property is located in the northwest corner of Namibia, along the famed Skeleton Coast with a pending EPL (pending) area of 980 km².
The estimated historical ore reserve is calculated at approximately 6 million tons at 400 PPM or 0.04% U3O8.
However, in a report written by General Mining in 1979, "Detail 1 Area has an estimated potential for approximately 15 million tons of ore at a grade of approximately 0.04% U3O8” which is equivalent to about 5.3 million pounds U3O8.
With additional exploration work, it is highly possible the tonnage can be increased significantly.
The area consists of rocks of the Damara sequence, which are unconformably overlain by Karoo sequence rocks. The Damara is made up of schists, gneisses and calc-silicate rocks equivalent to the Kuiseb formation. The Kuiseb formation is intruded by tectonic granites that are radioactive. It is thought that these granites are the source of the uranium mineralization in the area.
The exploration target is a mineralized sandstone belonging to the Dwyka and Engo formation.
The mineralization model would be similar to a sandstone-conglomerate and siltston hosted epigenetic / diagenetic deposit of which the roll-front and pene-concordant type in the USA are best known.
Extraction of uranium using In-Situ Leeching (ISL) would be considered the best recovery methodology.
