Description |
Stage |
Engo Valley |
Sandstone conglomerate and siltston hosted epigenetic/diagnetic deposit of which the roll-front and peneconcordiant type in the US are best known. |
Early stage exploration – historic resource of 6.0MM tons at 0.04% U3O8 with potential for significantly more tonnage. EPL is pending approval. |
Cape Cross |
Uranium mineralization in the form of carnotite associated with the palaeochannel similar to the Langer-Heinrich mine. |
Early stage exploration – large scale radon gas survey completed with additional radon gas survey to be completed; stratigraphic drilling taken place – results being condemnation drilling on areas that were once believed to be prospective; new exploration drill targets to be identified. |
Aus-Garub |
Uranium mineralization in the form of carnotite associated with the palaeochannel similar to the Langer-Heinrich mine. |
Early stage exploration – large scale radon gas survey completed at Aus and being conducted at Garub; drill testing/trenching of anomalous targets at Aus to follow. |
Warmbad |
Rossing Mine and Valencia Deposit style mineralization – low grade uraniferous alaskite; some of the 14 originally identified alaskite bodies have found to be connected – 5 large bodies defined. |
Exploration drill program currently underway since October 2007, with drilling activities taking place on Aluriesfontein, Big Yellow, and Gaobis. 8 zones of mineralized continuity (grades of 100PPM to 150PPM) discovered. Combination of definition and exploration drilling to be conducted in 2009. |
